AQR Report: Can Machines „Learn“ Finance?

AQR‘s Portfolio Solution Group this week published a short but important research study on whether Machine Learning can be useful for asset management.

The executive summary states that research into ML for asset managment is just in its infancy, but that early evidence suggests that ML tools can potentially improve investment portfolios, with application of AI and ML techniques as a „natural evolution for investment research.“

The paper concludes with that ML for asset management is „an evolution, not a revolution.“
