In our meetings with AI pioneers globally throughout this year, Israel and its AI ingenuity were high on our list. For a good reason… not only are many of the leading US AI centers and university led by Israeli scientists, but the talent pool in Tel Aviv is deep (we also love the city for many other reasons), with creative and important partnerships around the world. E.g., Israeli AI firm Waycare in a year-long crash prevention pilot program with the Nevada Highway Patrol reduced crashes on Las Vegas’ Interstate 15 by 17%. The AI uses cameras, sensors, car information, and other traffic data to develop prediction models and reduce congestion. Waycare has similar programs in Tel Aviv and Tampa. The Regional Transportation Commission said “groundbreaking partnerships like this <…> lead the way in leveraging advanced technologies to dramatically improve traffic safety and efficiency <…> and that AI is working to modernize and create a better transportation system for all.”
